The Calgary Region Utility Damage Prevention Committee is dedicated to the elimination of damages to facilities and to the promotion of safe working environments for all stakeholders involved.

Reducing damages to buried facilities will have a positive impact on:

• Worker safety
• Public safety
• Protection of the environment
• Preservation of the integrity of essential services

Prevention of damage requires the co-operative and collaborative efforts of all stakeholders in the damage prevention process.

It is a responsibility shared among the digging community, the owners of buried facilities, locators, regulatory agencies and the one-call centre.
